How to Use Eco Thrive

Mix Eco Thrive® into existing soil before planting or use it to amend garden beds, raised beds and landscape areas. Water thoroughly after application to help the compost integrate with the soil and begin delivering nutrients to your plants.

Prepare the Area

Remove weeds, rocks and debris from the planting area, then loosen the existing soil to prepare it for amendment.

Mix Into Soil

Spread Eco Thrive® evenly over the area and mix it into the top 4–6 inches of soil before planting. For raised beds or new garden areas, blend thoroughly with existing soil.

Plant & Water

Plant flowers, vegetables, shrubs or other landscape plants as desired, then water thoroughly to help settle the soil and activate the compost.

Grow & Maintain

Eco Thrive® continues to improve soil structure and support healthy plant growth over time. Reapply each season or whenever refreshing garden beds to maintain healthy, nutrient-rich soil.

What's the difference between Eco Thrive®? and Elite Lawn®?

Eco Thrive® is a nutrient-rich compost made from recycled food scraps collected from local businesses, schools and communities. It’s designed as a versatile soil amendment for vegetable gardens, flower beds, raised beds and landscaping projects.

Elite Lawn® is a premium compost made from Class A biosolids and engineered specifically for lawns. Its fine, ¼-inch screened texture makes it ideal for top dressing turf, improving soil structure and promoting thicker, greener grass.

What does "STA Certified" mean?

STA stands for Seal of Testing Assurance, a program administered by the U.S. Composting Council. It means Eco Thrive® is regularly tested by independent laboratories for key quality standards, including nutrient content, maturity, stability and safety, so you can trust you’re getting a consistent, high-quality compost. Like all Garden-Ville composts, Eco Thrive® is STA Certified.

How should I apply Eco Thrive®?

Eco Thrive® is designed to be mixed into existing soil before planting or when refreshing garden beds, raised beds and landscape areas. Blend it into the top few inches of soil and water thoroughly after application to help improve soil structure and support healthy plant growth.

Is Eco Thrive® safe for pets and children?

Yes. Eco Thrive® is an all-natural compost made from recycled food scraps and contains no synthetic chemicals, pesticides or herbicides. After application, water the area thoroughly and allow the compost to settle into the soil before children and pets return to the treated area.

Can I pick up in bulk or do you deliver?

Eco Thrive® is available for pickup in both bags and bulk at all six Garden-Ville locations. Delivery options and pricing vary by location, so contact your nearest Garden-Ville store for availability and details. For large commercial orders, our sales team can help coordinate delivery options.

How much do I need to buy?

Use our Cubic Yard Calculator above to determine the right amount of Eco Thrive® for your project. For standard lawn top dressing, apply a ¼–½ inch layer across your turf. As a general guide, 1,000 square feet at a ½ inch depth requires approximately 1.5 cubic yards of compost. If you need help calculating your order, our yard staff can assist with recommendations for your specific project.
