Atrazine is a very potent product. To control weeds you can use 20% vinegar mixed with orange oil, to green the grass up you can aerate, spread compost at 1/2" thick, and apply a well balanced organic fertilizer. I would stay away from the atrazine.
I live in Orlando, Fl have St. Augustine grass. Is their any way to kill chinch bugs organically? What about good nematodes?

Don,Beneficial Nematodes will organically control the chinch bugs in your yard, as well as 60 other pests.I have several wateroak trees in my front yard that to me are expressing some type of fungus. The leaves are turning brown in approx. 10 to 30 percent of the tree, which appears to be dead. The limbs are still alive. I bought off the self fungus liquids and sprayed as directed. The still appear to be sick looking. Can you recommend any product that I can try? The Trees are from 5 to 11 years old and 15 to 20 ft. tall. Approx. 8 watertrees total. Thank you, Don Summers

Potassium Bicarbonate, Tree Questions
Don,From what you have described it sounds like you may have oak wilt, http://plantpathology.tamu.edu/Texlab/oakwilt.html this website from Texas A&M University has photos and a short questionnaire that will help determine if you have oak wilt or not. If you do have oak wilt you will need to treat the root system with a systemic fungicide. Two common organic fungicides are horticultural corn meal and potassium bicarbonate, which can be mixed with water and sprayed around the trees. The website link also has an address where you can send off samples of the tree to see if the fungus is in the tree.I live in Island Heights in New Jersey. For the last 7past month it rained and water destroyed the soil, which is more sand, and I'd like to know what I should do to improve my garden ?

If the soil in your garden is mostly sand I would suggest amending it with straight compost either a manure based or vegetation based compost, till the compost in about 3-4" deep to figure out how many cubic yards you will need we have a cubic yard calculator on our website which you will need to enter in the length, width, and depth (3 or 4 inches which ever you prefer), it calculates the numbers and gives you the cubic yards needed for your garden. When tilling in the compost don't forget to add a good slow release organic fertilizer to add more nutrients to the soil.
