Mow regularly and leave clippings on the ground. Hand water dry spots, annuals and newly planted areas. Mulch all bare soil. Prune away all dead or diseased wood. Release beneficial insects. Fertilize lawns and all planting areas with organic fertilizer. Pinch buds off mums. Mulch roses. Watch for powdery mildew on crape myrtle, roses, and photinia. Spray Garrett Juice. Don't forget the compost pile and the birds.
